Chester Street Uniting Earth Ministry Space For God

About Us

Lacuna is a community of Christians committed to faith sharing and social justice. We have weekly meetings on campus, social events, interfaith discussions, bible studies, a Sunday night worship gathering called ‘Space for God’ and intervarsity events with other Uni's groups.

Lacuna has been around at Macquarie University for decades under different names, including Navigators and Navs. From its ‘Navigators’ days of memorising bible verses to its current focus on living faith and doing justice, it has always been a community of welcome and integrity; encouraging questions, doubt, discussion and faith in action, all of which are part of what we believe it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ in a university context.

In 2003 ‘Navs’ at Macquarie Uni became ‘Lacuna’. Since then Lacuna has been supported by the Uniting Church. We are part of UCATSA: the Uniting Church in Australia Tertiary Students Association but our members come from a diverse range of backgrounds and everyone is welcome.

Other groups we are connected to include ‘CSU’ (Christian Students Uniting) at Sydney University, UTS and UNSW, ‘Uniting Spirituality’ at Wollongong University and ‘UCATSA’ at Newcastle University and the University of Western Sydney.
